SP11 Contest - Then and Now
So our latest contest for Secret Pal 11 is to post a photo of the first thing you ever knit and then post something that you've knit recently so that you can see the progress you've made in your knitting.
So here's my VERY first FO (finished object)...

Then of course, my latest FO is Calorimetry...

I really am awfully proud of the progress I've made in two years. I know my progress would have been better had I kept at it. But honestly there were a few times that I almost wanted to quit knitting because I couldn't read difficult patterns. I could only knit patterns like scarves and hats because they were the simplest patterns.
Anyway, I'm glad I didn't give up and again I'm absolutley grateful that Jen took the time to teach me over IM how to read a pattern and taught me what "short rows" were and what "turning your work" meant.
I get a lot of comments left on my blog saying "I wish I could knit". My advice to you ladies that say that is DO IT! Learn! Go to your LYS (local yarn store) and take a class or two. You won't regret it and you will be so proud of yourself when you have a beautiful FO. Then when you go to the mall and see a scarf for $65, you can say, "huh, I can make that for $25"
Cheers to knitting!

I'm working on my very own Calorimetry after I finish that I'm moving onto Hats!
I am so jealous. I don't know if I told you, but last winter I tried to pick it (knitting) up and failed miserably. =( I wanted to knit cashmere blankets to give as Christmas presents.
I just want to know if you're going to the World Series in Denver. I need to know if I should be jealous or not.
Go you! I just love that headband thingie. I made a couple scarves and then figured out I didn't have the patience or desire to learn any more. Maybe someday I'll pick it up again.
You're amazing, girley. i have zero talent. and you have gobs...
I wish I could knit a cute scarf... can't wait to start to learn!
